No -- Find Housing, Housing Needs, and Helpful Resources are all browsable without one, so someone urgently looking for housing isn't slowed down. A free account is only required to actually submit a housing need or contact someone (a provider about a listing, or a provider contacting a housing-need poster).
No -- accounts are approved instantly. You can submit a housing need, contact anyone, or become a provider right after signing up, no waiting on review.
Find Housing is where you search available properties listed by providers. Housing Needs is the reverse: it's where people post what they're looking for, so providers can browse and reach out directly.
Sign in, then go to Submit a Housing Need. You can post on your own behalf or as a helper/organization on someone else's behalf, and you choose how much contact information gets shared and with whom.

Only signed-in, active providers ever see it, and only if your stated contact preference allows it (“Relay” keeps everything routed through the platform; “Share with providers” or “Public” unlocks it for providers specifically). Anonymous visitors and seeker-only accounts never see it.
Yes. You can browse every Find Housing listing without one, but reaching out through the contact form requires a free account.
Yes. Every account can add a provider profile via “Become a Provider” without losing seeker access, and later deactivate it from Dashboard → Profile to go back to seeker-only — your data and properties are kept, not deleted, and reactivating restores it instantly.
Yes for seekers, always -- no exceptions. For providers, publishing listings is a paid subscription ($39.99/month or $399.90/year, 2 months free), starting with a 14-day free trial so you can try it risk-free before you're charged.
Providers manage everything under Dashboard (properties, messages, matches, analytics). Seekers track their submitted housing needs under My Requests, including status updates like active, placed, or closed.
Yes. Seekers can see every provider listing they've reached out to under My Requests → Providers You've Contacted. Providers can see every housing-need poster they've messaged under Dashboard → Needs Contacted. A provider can only contact a given housing need once — unless it's reposted as a new listing.
Every inquiry generated through Open2Place — a seeker contacting you about a listing (a Direct Inquiry), or you reaching out about a posted Housing Request — automatically shows up under Dashboard → Activity with its origin already tagged, no manual entry needed. From there you can move it through a pipeline (New Inquiry → Contacted → Screening → Pending Information → Approved → Placement Scheduled → Placed or Closed), switch between a list or Kanban-style pipeline view, set a follow-up date or next action, and keep private notes only you can see. You'll get a push reminder when a follow-up is due or overdue, and again the day before a scheduled placement.
Yes. From Find Housing, use “Save This Search” to store your filters (city, housing type, price, and more), then turn on push alerts from Dashboard → Alerts. You'll get a push notification when a new property matching your saved search goes live, so you don't have to keep checking back manually. The same works from Housing Needs for providers or referral partners who want to hear about new requests matching their criteria.
Yes -- it's an installable web app, no app store needed. On iPhone/iPad: open open2place.com in Safari, tap the Share icon, then "Add to Home Screen." On Android: open it in Chrome, tap the menu (⋮), then "Install app" (or "Add to Home Screen"). Either way you get a full-screen app icon plus real push notifications.
A hand-picked directory of outside organizations — shelters, veteran services, treatment centers, reentry programs, and more — across the country, for when you need more than just a bed. It's separate from the property/housing-need marketplace and doesn't require an account to browse.
Yes, anytime, from Account Settings (linked in the header once you're signed in). Deleting your account is permanent — it removes everything tied to it, including submitted housing needs, property listings, messages, saved items, and CRM notes. There's no way to undo it, so it asks you to type "DELETE" to confirm.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe -- your card statement and checkout will show “Recuria” as the billing entity, our parent company.
